About

Alexey Terenin was born in 1969 in Moscow. In 1993 he graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute. While studying at the institute, he begins to build a career as a graphic artist and painter, successfully combining
in the works the formation of an architect and the practice of an artist. Alexey spent part of his childhood in Prague (at that time still Czechoslovakia), which may have influenced his work, incorporating the heritage of the cultures of the East and West. The language of memories and associations allowed him to build his own dream city, where in his fantasies, he himself chooses the time, place and rules of the game, and then goes on a journey with his characters. Apart from distracted by various experiments, he rather considers himself a realist. Art critic Alexey Vakhmanov defined this style as magical realism. The first personal exhibition was held in 1992 at the M'Ars Gallery.

In 1997 Alexey Terenin was the ballet designer "Capriccio" by Stravinsky staged by Alexei Ratmansky on stage
Bolshoi Theater.

The artist's works are in private collections in the USA, Czech Republic, Italy, Brazil and other countries of the world.
